Unisource brand towel & tissue qualifies for LEED points under the LEED-EB 2008 standard. Reference: IEQ Credit 3.4-6 – Green Cleaning: Sustainable Cleaning Products and Materials accepts Janitorial Towel & Tissue products derived from rapidly renewable resources or made from tree-free fibers.

Our brand is 100% manufactured from eucalyptus, acacia and other tropic woods.

Because these woods are harvested within 10 years of planting, they fulfill the rapidly renewable requirement. Sourcing and maintenance in compliance with LEED standards provides 40 percent of requirements for LEED certification of an existing building.


Any material consumed on a day-to-day basis should be made from rapidly renewable resources. This means resources that are not consumed more quickly than they can be replaced. Old growth forests cannot be replaced fast enough.

Unisource brand Towel & Tissue is made 100% from rapidly renewable fiber. Fibers include acacia, mixed tropical woods and eucalyptus, which are plantation crops harvested in less than 10 years.
